Fortunes of the Ill Fated V2

Description

Birthday and appreciation gift art for Annie Talbot on LJ.

This is a cropped version of the orginal Fortunue Of the Ill Fated, BUT I used different art filters on this version. Taking the core manipped phtograph I applied dark strokes and outlines.

My muse wants angst right now. This art in my mind depicts an event where the Death Eaters are in the castle and Snape is heading up to the tower to fullfill his promise of killing Dumbledore. He runs into Trewlaney who is warning him and he curses her- because he already knows what he must do. I think this pic has a sort of relgious feel too it. Snape basically martyrs himself on the altar of sin for the 'greater good" and for love. Poor thing.

This is not your normal bit of Harry Potter photo manip art. No movie stills or actors are used. In other words, no bleeping WB content!

Annie cosplays Sybil Trewlaney. Droxy is the Snape.

This is a complex piece of photo manipulation art invovling over 4 separate photographs. The tower ledge is from a picture my hubby took in Berlin. Sybil comes from a 2009 shot and Snape from a 2008 shot.

Other than normal PS adjustments and filters, I used the flame brushes provided for free by obsidian dawn. I used the Luce illumination tool. Getting those characters on the ledge required extraction and a lot of patience using the transform perspective and scale tools.

I wont even begin to discuss how many layers and mutiple sets of shadow adjustment there is in this art.

This doesn't even cover the theater art that the cosplayers did in terms of makeup and costume creation and acting.

Is art or "just a photomanip"? You decide.

I'd never heard of this sort of elaborate photo manipulation before. It's really cool (and definitely art), and you're really good at it! :D

Keep up the good work!
